Excellent academic record including a minimum 2:1 degree in a technical/numerate discipline from a good university

You will have a successful track record as a data warehouse architect involved in creation and ownership of a diverse range of solutions from early concepts and feasibility through to validation, delivery and optimisation.
Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Management Information/Analytics solutions plus exposure to and understanding of various business problems including eCommerce, Content Management, Data Warehousing, Customer Relationship Management, Mobile Data and Enterprise Application Integration.
Able to differentiate between established/proven technology and pioneering/immature technology.
Familiar with architectural design patterns (such as client server, distributed databases, operational data stores, meta data management, data marting, analytical warehouse, data warehouses) and with adhering to design principles and reference or strategic architectures.
Comfortable in influencing client decisions regarding technology.
Good working knowledge of open/industry standards and methodologies including UML, RUP and Data Modelling and be able to articulate solutions in full using a number of different architectural views (functional and use case, static or component based, dynamic or interaction based, deployment or physical based etc) working autonomously or as part of a team.
Excellent understanding of how application, data, infrastructure and network design combine to achieve high performance, availability, resilience and scalability of solutions

- Extensive experience of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL)/Data Management/Data Quality Management tools such as Informatica, PowerCenter, Ascential Data Stage, Ab Initio, Business Objects Data Integrator, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Trillium, DataFlux and SAS ETL Studio.
- Query and reporting tools, such as Business Objects / Crystal reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, SAS.
- Multi-dimensional analysis tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Microsoft Analysis Services, Oracle OLAP, SAS OLAP, Microstrategy and Cognos.
- Experience of visualisation/specialist analytical tools & technologies would be an advantage.
- Experience of complementary technology areas such as Java/J2EE, EAI and .NET (and associated concepts including Object-Oriented and Service-Oriented design) an advantage.
- Excellent commercial/pragmatic abilities in order to understand and interpret clients' requirements and address constraints of time, cost and quality.
- Bid preparation and sales support experience - definition of the technical solution including conceptualisation, estimation and risk assessment. Use of different views and specification techniques. Very strong hands-on design and direction of the solution.
- The ability to establish and maintain relationships with client stakeholders and to work across different projects or clients.
- A strong element of creativity to shape innovative solutions combined with strong architectural design experience in order to develop a workable solution.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills in order to be able to communicate technical solutions in non-technical terms with senior client stakeholders, drive selection and agreement of options, align business and technical teams and motivate delivery teams.
- Excellent written skills to imbue solution documentation with clarity and focus as well as detail.
- Good team management skills.
- A high degree of personal motivation and resilience to overcome setbacks with the ability to work in consistently high pressure environments.
- The ability to speak confidently on technical subjects with limited preparation commanding respect and authority and to liaise with clients on difficult or sensitive topics.
- Full development life cycle experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a software development methodology and structured approaches to development.
