Detica Electronic Systems Group is looking for a Systems Solutions Consultant to expand our design teams.
Detica’s Electronic Systems Group provides the capability to design, build, install, and support world-leading technology. We develop hardware and software solutions to specific business and operational requirements. Our systems meet strenuous performance criteria and are characterised by innovative design frequently involving the latest FPGA technology for high speed data and signal processing.
Examples of products include gigabit speed packet processing platforms such as custom switches and routers; software radio systems implementing advanced signal processing techniques; and high speed floating point computation engines.
Our customers include a variety of government departments and defence, telecommunications and financial services companies, predominantly in the UK and US.
This is a pre-sales role that will involve;
- Positioning current capabilities in sales meetings with customers (both technical and management) in a context that is relevant to their organisation and their level of understanding.
- Identifying possible new technical solutions, championing them internally and developing and presenting proposals back to the customer.
- The aptitude to pursue and shape new business opportunities in potentially unfamiliar areas.
Experience required;
- Broad technical and commercial experience.
- Bid and proposal generation.
- Experience of one or more of the following:
- Digital electronics.
- Signal processing.
- Low-level communications engineering.
- Numerical computing.
The candidate should exhibit most, if not all, of the following characteristics:
•Credible at a senior (CXO) level;
•Good at communicating complex ideas in simple terms in a sales context;
•Good at preparing and presenting proposals;
•Commercially astute;
•Technically flexible and able to “think on his/her feet”;
•Enjoys talking to hardware and software developers at a detailed technical level;
•Comfortable when presented with an unfamiliar technical subject.;
•Intellectually curious.
You need to be able to achieve the highest level of security clearance for this role.
